"Train Troubles" WIP #05_3D test

Here's a quick 3D test for a shot from Train Troubles. I wasn't really planning on making Train Troubles a 3D short, but I thought it'd be fun just to see what it'd look like.

"Train Troubles" WIP #03_Rail Cart

Completed a rail cart that the conductor will use to try to catch up with the runaway train. I was thinking of the car from Who Frame Roger Rabbit when I modelled it. It wont talk or be a full out character, but I do want the cart to be pretty flexible and maybe personify it a little bit in the animation. It needs to stretch and tilt and bend pretty freely so I can hit the poses I want and it's been a challenge figuring out how to combine all of these movements into one sturdy rig, but it's almost done.

I also came up with some loose story beats so I might take a breather from set design and get a rough storyboard out.

Shot Breakdown

This is a shot breakdown for a short clip that I worked on during a recent freelance opportunity at Make Visual. In this shot I was responsible for all of the 3D work, the composite and the rotoscoping of it into the film plate that they provided. For my own purposes I decided to do a quick color correction and 2D motion tracked the video clip to the TV.
